Thamer bin Fayyaz bin Khalfan Al Alawi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Spain, presented his credentials as Oman’s Permanent Representative to United Nations Tourism to Shaikha Al Nuwais, Secretary-General of UN Tourism. Mr Pablo Caralps, Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Oman in Barcelona, hosted a reception to mark the opening of the Consulate. The reception was attended by Thamer Al Alawi, Oman’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, along with senior Spanish officials and business leaders.

The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 32nd  Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona, with a national pavilion bringing together several government entities and private sector companies, including eight Omani factories specialising in fish products, in strategic partnership with Sohar International Bank. The discussions addressed developments in the region and the need to support mediation efforts

The calls emphasised the importance of regional and international efforts to push for diplomatic solutions to the military escalation.

The call affirmed the need to intensify efforts to end the ongoing conflict, and to return to peaceful means of resolving disputes.

The award recognises Oman’s unique tourism product and the wide range of travel experiences it offers.

The consultations reviewed existing relations, affirming a shared keenness to continue developing cooperation.

The Ministry also sends its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal Decree No. 3/2026 ratifiying the agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Spain on a mutual visa waiver for holders of diplomatic, special and service passports, signed in Madrid on  November 5, 2025. Article (1) ratifies the aforementioned agreement in accordance with the version attached to this decree. Article

The Decrees ratify an agreement on mutual visa exemptions with Spain and an air services agreement with Côte d’Ivoire.

The Decree appoints a permanent representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the World Tourism Organisation in Madrid.

His Majesty delivered three speeches in Madrid in the Senate Building, the Council Hall and the Royal Palace.

The signing ceremony took place during the state visit of His Majesty to Spain.
