His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has been awarded the Arab Tourism Medal of the First Class by the Arab Tourism Organisation, in recognition of his contributions to supporting joint Arab action and strengthening integration among Arab countries, particularly with regard to the tourism sector.

The award was presented at a meeting in Jeddah where Dr Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid, President of the Arab Tourism Organisation, received Sayyid Najib bin Hilal bin Saud Albusaidi, Ambassador of Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and handed over the decoration.
