Minister receives Ethiopian Ambassador

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received Dr Muktar Kedir Abdu, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Sultanate of Oman.

They reviewed the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and explored ways to enhance them in the economic, logistics and investment sectors. They also discussed plans to organise a business forum for public and private sector representatives to promote economic and trade cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting also addressed recent developments in the Horn of Africa. The Ambassador was briefed on Oman’s views regarding these developments, as well as its perspective on regional and international affairs more broadly.

The Ambassador conveyed his Government’s appreciation for Oman’s constructive role in supporting security and stability, promoting dialogue across the region and fostering peaceful coexistence among neighbouring countries.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Dr Mohammed bin Ali Albalushi, Head of the Ministry’s Africa Department, Ambassador Dr Afkar Alfarsi, Head of Oman’s Mission to Ethiopia, and officials from both countries.
