The Deputy Head of the Sultanate of Oman’s Mission to the World Trade Organization in Geneva participated in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The Deputy Head of Mission visited the pavilions of the sister GCC countries.

The Omani Human Rights Committee organised an event at the Palais of Nations in Geneva to present the Omani human rights experience and to highlight its role in the promotion and protection of human rights. The event also aimed to open avenues of dialogue with international partners, and to exchange best practice and experiences with international institutions and bodies concerned

Mohammed bin Mirza, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the UN and other organisations in Geneva , attended a diplomatic briefing organised by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on preparations for the convening of the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).    

The official Ministry statement also wishes the injured a speedy recovery.

The session discussed ways to develop cooperation in the economic, trade and tourism sectors.

His Highness Sayyid Nizar bin Al Julanda Al Said, Oman’s Ambassador to the Italian Republic; and Mahmoud bin Hamad Al Hasani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Switzerland and non-resident Ambassador to the Vatican, participated in the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis.

In his speech, Oman’s Ambassador said the right to food is fundamental to ensuring human dignity.

The Deputy Head of the Mission of the Sultanate of Oman to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva met with Chinese officials and representatives from the WTO Accession Department. The meeting discussed arrangements for Oman to host the 13th China Round Table on Accession to the World Trade Organisation, planned to be held on May 12 and 13, 2025

The Pavilion reinforced Oman’s position as a leader of economic and environmental transformation in the Middle East.

The annual meeting emphasised the strengthening of strategic partnerships and promoting cooperation.
