His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued Royal Decree No. 30/2026 ratifying the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of India, signed in Muscat on December 18, 2025. Article (1) ratifies the aforesaid agreement as per the version attached to this decree. Article (2) says that

The meeting took place in New Delhi on the sidelines of a Ministerial Meeting of the Arab India Cooperation Forum.

The Ministers reviewed cooperation between the two friendly countries and how to enhance it.

The visit celebrates the 70 years of diplomatic relations between Oman and India and thousands of years of maritime trade.

Ambassador Issa Alshibani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of India; and Military Attaché, Issa Alnahawi; attended the farewell ceremony for the traditional sailing vessel INSV Kaundinya. The vessel is sailing from Porbandar in Gujarat to Muscat, marking the shared maritime heritage of Oman and India and building on the long standing relations between the two nations.

The meeting discussed opportunities to enhance trade and investment between the two brotherly countries.

The visit took place in the year marking the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The signing included the Joint Maritime Vision document and four Memoranda of Understanding in various fields.

The guest and his accompanying delegation were seen off by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.

The forum focused on reviewing promising investment opportunities within Oman and forging a stronger economic partnership with India.
