On the sidelines of a training workshop organised by the International Labour Organization in Colombo for participating countries, the first meeting between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India was held under the auspices of the ILO to discuss inclusive social protection for expatriates.

Oman’s delegation was headed by Ahmed bin Ali bin Saeid Alrashidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, with the participation of Dr Faisal bin Abdullah Al Farsi, Chief Executive Officer of the Social Protection Fund, along with officials from the Fund, the Ministry of Labour and the Foreign Ministry.

The Indian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of External Affairs and included officials from the Ministry and insurance funds.
