“Your Excellency Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council, Premier of the People’s Republic of China,

“It is a pleasure to meet you today at this occasion that embodies the strong ties between our two nations, as we join hands to consolidate our bonds of friendship and cooperation and to open up new vistas for Omani-Chinese relations. We deeply value the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to us.

We are confident that the shared civilisational heritage and economic opportunities between Oman and China are capable of evolving into mutually beneficial gains and a genuine partnership across various fields.

His Majesty meets with Premier of State Council of China

“Oman and China have long been linked by historical, commercial and cultural bonds that have grown into formal institutional relations in modern times. China has now become a key economic and commercial partner to the Sultanate of Oman.

“We now look forward to shifting from a purely quantitative perspective to trade exchanges and the flow of investments, an approach based on promoting technical and productive capabilities that are more diverse and sustainable. In fact, this is the core objective of “Oman Vision 2040”, which seeks to diversify economic channels and productive sectors, enhance institutional efficiency and invest in human capital and knowledge.

“We lay special emphasis on strategic partnerships, particularly in the areas of clean energy, hydrogen, advanced technologies, artificial intelligence and the digital economy. We look forward to expanding cooperation within the banking sector, financial markets, the management of assets and investment funding in a manner that facilitates the flow of capital and enables institutions to better capitalise on emerging opportunities. We hope that the cooperation between the Oman Investment Authority and the Bank of China, besides our participation in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, will further promote this approach.

“The Sultanate of Oman’s strategic location—as well as the country’s ports and its economic and free zones—offers opportunities for deepening cooperation in the fields of industry, logistics and supply chains. We look forward to expanding joint investments across the sectors of manufacturing industries, renewable energy and modern technologies—with the goal of fostering integration, opening wider markets and linking production capabilities with the centres of research, knowledge and innovation.

“While we value the efforts made by the Omani-Chinese Joint Committee, we call for accelerating the implementation of joint programmes, facilitating investment and enhancing the engagement of the private sector. We would also like to stress the need to diversify trade, expand the access of Omani products to the Chinese markets and enhance cooperation in fields of food security, fisheries and digital trade.

“Since global economic transformations require partnerships that are more flexible and adaptable, we hope that the next stage will see more high-quality investments, joint industrial and technological projects and deeper financial and institutional ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the People’s Republic of China. We also look forward to greater cooperation between establishments of the private sector in our two nations.

“Within the framework of our international cooperation, the Sultanate of Oman supports efforts aimed at fostering dialogue and understanding. We welcome the exchange of views on international issues of common interest in a manner that contributes to the formulation of harmonious stands that serve global peace and stability.

“In conclusion, we reiterate our appreciation for your country. We also hope that this meeting will lead to practical steps that consolidate economic relations and furnish grounds for integration and partnership between our two friendly nations.”
