A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department expressed the Ministry’s deep sorrow over the death of Omani citizen Nadhira Al Harthy following a tragic avalanche in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The spokesperson said coordination is under way with the relevant Pakistani authorities to complete the necessary procedures to repatriate her body to the Sultanate of Oman.

The Ministry pays tribute to the late Nadhira Al Harthy’s significant contribution to strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties between Oman and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal through her role as Chair of the Oman Nepal Friendship Association. She also made valuable contributions to community initiatives and to promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The spokesperson extended the Ministry’s sincere condolences and sympathy to her family, praying that Almighty God grant her His mercy and give her loved ones patience and strength.
