Minister receives phone call from UK counterpart

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received a telephone call from Yvette Cooper, UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.

The call addressed the latest developments in the region and the challenges arising from them, highlighting the need for continued coordination, consultation and engagement with all parties to support confidence building efforts, promote consensus and understanding and address the causes of tension and escalation.

The two Ministers also agreed on the importance of collective cooperation to ensure the restoration of freedom of navigation and the security of maritime trade and supply chains in the region.

In addition, they discussed aspects of cooperation and partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom and ways to further expand them in a manner that serves their mutual interests and strengthens Gulf UK trade and economic cooperation.
