Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received this evening  Georgy Borisenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The meeting highlighted a shared keenness to continue developing cooperation and partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and Russia. It also built on the outcomes of the historic visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Russian Federation last year and the progress achieved in relations, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy, transport and tourism, as well as the progress achieved in strengthening cultural, scientific and technical cooperation to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries.

The meeting also addressed regional and international issues and developments. It highlighted the importance of intensifying consultations and joint action, strengthening international and multilateral mechanisms and upholding international law in addressing regional and global challenges, while reinforcing dialogue and diplomacy to support stability and peaceful coexistence.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs; Ambassador Mundher  Al Mandhari, Head of the Ministry’s Europe Department; Oleg Levin, Russia’s Ambassador to Oman and various officials from both countries.
