The 15th meeting of the Strategic Consultative Group between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India was held in New Delhi.
The Omani delegation was headed by Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, while the Indian delegation was headed by Siriya Ranganathan, Secretary for Consular, Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs at India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
The meeting discussed ways to implement the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries, with a view to boosting trade and investment and expanding opportunities for economic cooperation.
It also reviewed cooperation in civil aviation, maritime transport, logistics and energy, alongside a number of consular matters and agreements. The two countries also exchanged views on regional developments.
The meeting was attended by Issa Alshibani, Oman’s Ambassador to the Republic of India, and officials from both countries.
