Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met Dr Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two Ministers discussed the close relations between the two countries and the latest regional developments.

They reaffirmed their commitment to further developing Omani-Egyptian cooperation, building on their longstanding relations, mutual understanding and shared perspectives to advance common interests and benefit the peoples of both countries.

They also discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Red Sea region.

The Ministers highlighted the importance of concerted diplomatic efforts to contain escalation and create conditions conducive to solutions that safeguard regional security and stability and ensure the smooth flow of trade and shipping through the Straits of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab.
