Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met in New York with Ed Miliband, the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two Ministers reaffirmed the depth of the historical ties and longstanding partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, and their commitment to further developing cooperation and expanding it into new areas to serve mutual interests and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries and their peoples.

The Ministers reviewed existing areas of cooperation and highlighted the importance of continued coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest to maintain the momentum of relations and support their further development.

On regional and international affairs, they exchanged views on the latest developments and highlighted the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts, strengthening channels of communication and dialogue, and supporting efforts to resolve crises peacefully, thus contributing to security, peace and stability.
