The Sultanate of Oman participated in the opening of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The session brought together heads of state and government, heads of delegation and representatives of international and regional organisations.

The session is taking place amid highly sensitive international and regional circumstances. Its wide-ranging agenda covers issues relating to peace, security, sustainable development and human rights. It also addresses major global challenges, particularly ongoing conflicts, humanitarian crises, climate issues and economic and technological transformations.

The session provides an opportunity to strengthen multilateral action, coordinate joint international efforts and explore ways to address current challenges. These efforts will contribute to consolidating security and stability and advancing peace, development and prosperity for all peoples.
