Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met with the Philippines’ Secretary of Foreign Affairs Maria Theresa Lazaro on the sidelines of the third Oman–Philippines Forum.
The two Ministers reviewed the friendship and cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of the Philippines and discussed ways to strengthen their partnership across areas of mutual interest.
They also underscored the importance of the Oman–Philippines Forum as a strategic platform for institutional dialogue that creates new opportunities for cooperation between the two governments, the private sector and academic institutions.
They highlighted its role in advancing partnerships in trade, investment, logistics, tourism, energy and technology, in line with the two countries’ aspirations for sustainable and inclusive development.
The Ministers also welcomed the continued growth of relations, noting that mutual trust and strong people-to-people ties, particularly the contributions of the Filipino community in Oman, provide a solid foundation for deepening cooperation and expanding it into new areas in the future.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, discussing diplomatic efforts to promote security, stability and peace. The Ministers stressed the importance of continued coordination and cooperation to safeguard the freedom and safety of navigation and ensure the uninterrupted flow of maritime trade and supply chains.
The meeting was attended by Nasser Almanwari, Oman’s Ambassador to the Philippines, along with officials from both countries.
