The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the 50th SabaSaba International Trade Fair, held in the United Republic of Tanzania from June 28 to July 3, 2026. The event is one of East Africa’s leading trade exhibitions.
Khalid bin Sulaiman Al Salhi, Director General of Marketing and Commercial Affairs and official spokesperson for Madayn, said the participation of the Omani Products Promotion Supervisory Team, OPEX, aims to strengthen the presence of Omani products in global markets by organising and managing national participation in major international exhibitions.
He added that the fair provides a valuable opportunity to attract and localise investment in Oman and increase exports. It also serves as an important platform for reaching East African markets and promoting Omani products across various sectors.
In a statement to the Oman News Agency, Khalid Al Salhi said that Oman will participate in the exhibition through a stand featuring 24 companies from the industrial, commercial and service sectors. The stand will showcase the development of Omani industry, particularly in standards, quality and packaging.
He explained that the team is continuing to implement its 2026 plan to participate in several specialised international exhibitions. The plan aims to increase Omani exports, explore new markets and build sustainable commercial partnerships.
OPEX comprises the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Madayn, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, Riyada. The team works towards several strategic objectives, including increasing Omani exports, supporting small and medium enterprises and attracting high quality investment to the manufacturing sector. It also seeks to strengthen commercial relations and benefit from economic agreements, contributing to increased trade and reinforcing Oman’s position as a dynamic industrial and commercial hub.
The team’s participation in international exhibitions supports economic diversification targets, strengthens the competitiveness of Omani products and opens new opportunities for national companies to access global markets. This contributes to increasing non-oil exports, attracting investment and consolidating Oman’s presence on the global trade and industrial landscape.
