Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, held a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar, in the presence of officials from both countries.

They reviewed the strong relations between Oman and Qatar and the successful programmes of bilateral cooperation across various economic and investment sectors. They also discussed opportunities for strategic partnership and ways to further develop them in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

The two Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues, and discussed ways of addressing them within the framework of cooperation between Oman and Qatar, the convergence of their perspectives and their shared commitment to supporting regional stability and fostering a more secure and balanced environment in the region.

The meeting reviewed regional developments and ongoing political and diplomatic efforts aimed at containing tensions and creating more sustainable paths for dialogue and understanding. Discussions also covered developments related to the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring the smooth flow of trade and energy through vital maritime routes in accordance with international law, while safeguarding the sovereignty of states, maritime safety and the interests of the international community.

They both expressed their appreciation for the joint efforts undertaken by Oman and Qatar, alongside the sustained efforts of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, within a framework of integrated coordination and mutual understanding, in support of dialogue and peaceful initiatives that strengthen the foundations of security and stability.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador at large, Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and officials from both countries.
