His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, at Al Barakah Palace.
At the outset of the meeting, the guest conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, along with his best wishes to His Majesty for continued good health and happiness, and to the Omani people for further progress and prosperity.
His Majesty asked the guest to convey his greetings and best wishes to his brother, the Emir, and to the brotherly Qatari people.
The meeting reviewed the course of the ongoing United States-Iran negotiations through Pakistani and Qatari mediation, as well as the latest diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the state of war and reaching a comprehensive final settlement to the crisis in all its aspects.
His Majesty highlighted the importance of advancing these efforts to achieve security and stability in the region, and of ensuring complementarity among the constructive initiatives undertaken by sisterly and friendly countries in this regard.
The guest commended the pivotal role played by Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty, in supporting dialogue, facilitating channels of communication and bringing viewpoints closer among the various parties.
The meeting was attended from Oman by His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador at large at the Foreign Ministry.
From Qatar, the meeting was attended by Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Hamad bin Khamis Al Kubaisi, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council; and Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Oman.
