Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received a phone call from Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission.
They exchanged views on regional developments in light of the rapidly evolving situation and the challenges it poses to security, stability and maritime navigation.
They underscored the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts aimed at de escalation, containing tensions and preventing the region from sliding into a comprehensive confrontation that would carry serious consequences for its countries and peoples as well as for international peace and security.
The call also highlighted that diplomacy remains the best path towards resolving the crisis and creating the conditions necessary for the safe and regular resumption of maritime navigation, safeguarding the security of sea lanes and the integrity of global supply chains and international trade.
