The Sultanate of Oman has begun its participation in the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition 2026 as the official partner, with a presence that reflects Oman’s interest in strengthening its presence in the Russian market and expanding its network of relations with travel and tourism partners in Russia.
Oman’s participation saw a programme of meetings with travel and tourism offices, travel companies and bodies concerned with the tourism sector.
Azzan bin Qasim Albusaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that Oman’s participation in the Exhibition as an official partner forms part of the Ministry’s drive to strengthen its presence in target markets.
Haitham bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that Oman’s status as official partner provides a promotional presence that combines institutional visibility, professional engagement and broad media coverage.
This participation comes at a time when Russian tourism to the Sultanate is witnessing rapid growth. The number of Russian visitors increased from 44,618 in 2024 to 86,273 in 2025, reflecting the effectiveness of promotional programmes and efforts to build partnerships in this market.
