An official reception ceremony was held today for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on the occasion of His Majesty’s state visit to the People’s Republic of China. The ceremony took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the Chinese capital.

Upon the arrival of His Majesty’s motorcade, a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of His Majesty. President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China was at the forefront of those receiving His Majesty. He welcomed His Majesty as an esteemed guest of China and wished His Majesty and the accompanying official delegation a pleasant and successful visit.

Following this, His Majesty and the Chinese President posed for commemorative photographs at the Great Hall of the People.

His Majesty then greeted senior Chinese officials, while the Chinese President greeted members of His Majesty’s accompanying official delegation.

His Majesty and the Chinese President then proceeded to the ceremonial dais, where the Omani Royal Anthem and the Chinese National Anthem were played. His Majesty subsequently inspected the guard of honour.

A group of children then welcomed His Majesty on the occasion of his gracious state visit.
