His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued two Royal Decrees as follows:

Royal Decree No. 97/2026 amends certain provisions of the Council of Oman Law.

Article 1: The amendments attached to this Decree shall be made to the aforementioned Council of Oman Law.

Article 2: All provisions that contravene the attached amendments or conflict with their provisions shall be repealed.

Article 3: This Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force on the day following its publication.

Royal Decree No. 98/2026 amends certain provisions of the Shura Council Members Election Law.

Article 1: A new Article No. 4 bis shall be added to the aforementioned Shura Council Members Election Law, reading as follows:

“The Minister shall issue a decision specifying the rules and procedures for nominating one woman from each governorate for the membership allocated to that governorate in the Council.”

Article 2: All provisions that contravene this Decree or conflict with its provisions shall be repealed.

Article 3: This Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force on the day following its publication.
