The Sultanate of Oman and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) discussed prospects for future cooperation and ways to enhance coordination in humanitarian and medical fields of mutual interest.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qatbi, Head of the International Organisations Department at the Foreign Ministry, and Laura Leyser, Secretary General of the International Office of Médecins Sans Frontières. The meeting was held at the headquarters of Oman’s Mission to the United Nations in New York.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, addressing the medical and humanitarian situation in several conflict and crisis areas, as well as current humanitarian and regional challenges.

The meeting also reviewed Oman’s efforts to support humanitarian initiatives and help mitigate the impact of crises.
