Oman and Sri Lanka hold fourth round of political consultations

The fourth round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka was held in Muscat.

The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, while the Sri Lankan delegation was headed by Ms Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

Oman and Sri Lanka hold fourth round of political consultations

The consultations reviewed relations between the two friendly countries and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the economic, investment, tourism and cultural sectors.

The two delegations also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

The meeting underlined the importance of continuing consultation and coordination between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and of exploring new avenues for partnership that serve mutual interests and contribute to regional and international security, stability and cooperation.

The consultations were attended by officials from both countries.
