The first round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Maldives was held at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, co-chaired by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, and Fathimath Inaya, Foreign Secretary of the Maldives.

The consultations focused on bilateral relations and opportunities for cooperation in sustainable tourism, fisheries, the blue economy, renewable energy and cultural exchange. The delegations also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Hosni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department, and officials from the Foreign Ministries of both countries.
