Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met in New York during the United Nations General Assembly, with Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The Ministers discussed opportunities for economic and investment cooperation, ways to broaden their shared interests and prospects for partnerships that would advance bilateral relations and benefit from the potential available in both friendly countries.

The meeting also addressed regional and international issues of mutual interest, with the Ministers exchanging assessments of the latest developments.

During a meeting with Oana-Silvia Țoiu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Sayyid Badr discussed ways to advance Omani Romanian relations and expand cooperation between the two countries.

The Ministers reviewed bilateral relations and the progress made in communication and coordination. They affirmed the importance of taking relations to new levels by activating institutional cooperation frameworks, promoting reciprocal visits and intensifying political consultations. They also explored new opportunities in the economic, commercial, investment, cultural and educational fields.

The Ministers expressed their hope that the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Bucharest would open in the near future.

They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. They affirmed the importance of continued coordination and consultation, supporting efforts to resolve conflicts peacefully, respecting the principles of international law and strengthening security and stability at the regional and international levels.

The Minister also met with Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad of the Republic of Tunisia.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Oman and Tunisia. They also explored opportunities to expand cooperation in support of the shared interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

Their discussions addressed the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation in order to advance mutual interests and translate the strength of Omani Tunisian relations into broader areas of cooperation.

The Ministers also reviewed developments in the region and their implications. They affirmed the importance of coordinating positions on Arab and Islamic issues and supporting efforts to contain disagreements and give priority to dialogue and political solutions.
