Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received a phone call this evening from United Nations Secretary General António Guterres.

During the call, they discussed regional developments and their humanitarian repercussions, as well as efforts to de-escalate tensions and create conditions conducive to the resumption of dialogue and diplomatic efforts to address outstanding issues through political means.

The UN Secretary General commended the constructive role played by the Sultanate of Oman in supporting diplomatic efforts and bringing perspectives closer together.

He highlighted the importance of continued coordination and consultation to advance de-escalation efforts and support a humanitarian response.

Sayyid Badr underscored the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts, exercising wisdom and restraint, and allowing political and diplomatic initiatives to contain tensions and address issues of concern in order to strengthen security, stability and peace in the region.
