Minister meets Egyptian counterpart in Manila

Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, met Dr Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting held in Manila to mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.

During the meeting, the two Ministers reviewed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Egypt, highlighting the close alignment of views and mutual understanding that characterise ties between the two countries across various fields.

They also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and broaden its scope in to serve their shared interests and benefit both countries and their peoples.

The two Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly those relating to navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and efforts to help reduce tensions and advance peace initiatives in order to safeguard regional security and stability.

Commenting on the X social media platform, Sayyid Badr described their discussions as a “highly beneficial and fruitful fraternal meeting.”

The meeting was attended by Nasser Almanwari, Oman’s Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, and officials from both countries.
