The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), held in Geneva from July 7 to 15.
The Omani delegation is led by Ambassador Idris Alkhanjari, Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organisations in Geneva.
The delegation includes officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Omani Association for Intellectual Property.
In a statement, Oman highlighted the importance of developing the international intellectual property system to make it more efficient, inclusive and responsive to the needs of member states.
It also outlined the country’s efforts to strengthen its national intellectual property framework in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
Oman also reaffirmed its commitment to continuing constructive cooperation with WIPO to promote innovation and creativity and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
