The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of the Netherlands signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of water resources management.

The memorandum between the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands was signed on behalf of Oman by Engineer Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, while it was signed on behalf of the Netherlands by Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.

The memorandum of understanding forms part of the growing cooperation between the Oman and the Netherlands and demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening their bilateral partnership in water resources management. The agreement aims to boost the exchange of technical expertise and to support joint efforts related to sustainability and water security in the fields of water management and water planning.

The agreement also aims to develop institutional and technical cooperation between the two friendly countries and to support their shared drive towards achieving sustainable development and enhancing the efficiency of water resources management.
