The Foreign Ministry expresses the Sultanate of Oman’s condemnation of the decision by the Government of the Republic of Colombia to recognise Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan. Oman affirms that the decision violates international law and is contrary to relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, foremost among them UN Security Council Resolution 497 of 1981.
The Sultanate of Oman reiterates its firm position that the Golan is occupied Syrian territory and reaffirms its support for the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic over all its territory and for its unity. It calls on all states to abide by the Charter of the United Nations, the provisions of international law and relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
