Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi joined a consultative video conference with the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to exchange views on recent developments and the latest progress in the ongoing negotiations.
The Ministers reviewed regional developments and efforts to advance practical understandings that would help reduce tensions and strengthen regional security and stability.
The meeting also discussed ways to enhance coordination and consultation among GCC member states on issues related to the safety and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring the right of passage and transit and the uninterrupted flow of shipping, trade and supplies in accordance with international law, while safeguarding the sovereign rights of all states bordering the Gulf.
The Ministers affirmed the importance of continuing joint action, of prioritising political and diplomatic solutions and of creating favourable conditions to build confidence and reach mutually acceptable solutions for all parties.
