Asyad Terminal Duqm has welcomed the CMA CGM Vasco de Gama on its maiden call, marking a new milestone as the largest container ship to berth at the terminal since operations began.

The visit highlights the terminal’s readiness to accommodate the latest generation of ultra-large container vessels.

With a capacity of 18,000 TEUs, the vessel’s arrival highlights Asyad Terminal Duqm’s advanced operational capabilities and its ability to handle the world’s largest container ships efficiently and safely.

The terminal is supported by modern infrastructure, deep-water berths and operational capabilities designed to meet the growing demands of the global container shipping industry.

Omar bin Mahmud Al Mahrazi, Chief Executive Officer of Asyad Ports and Free Zones, said the maiden call of the CMA CGM Vasco de Gama demonstrates the growing confidence that leading global shipping lines place in the Sultanate of Oman.
