Dr Saud bin Hamood bin Ahmed Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture Fisheries and Water Resources, held a meeting with Yuri Gorlov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, as part of his official visit to Belarus. The meeting was attended by Hamood bin Salim bin Abdullah Altowaiya, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation and non–resident Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Belarus; Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Dr Abdullah bin Masoud Al Harthy, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus to the Sultanate of Oman.

The meeting reviewed relations between the two friendly countries and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, livestock, fisheries and food security. They also discussed investment opportunities and the exchange of expertise and modern technologies in agricultural and food production.

The Ministers addressed prospects for developing partnerships between institutions and companies in both countries to enhance food security and advance mutual interests. They affirmed the importance of continuing coordination and the exchange of visits and expertise to support bilateral cooperation across areas of common interest.

Both Oman and Belarus commended the progress and growth witnessed in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic and investment cooperation in support of sustainable development objectives and the strengthening of partnership between the two friendly countries.
