Omani Turkish talks address strengthening partnership and regional developments

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi held talks with Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of the friendly Republic of Türkiye, in the Turkish capital Ankara.

The Ministers reviewed the overall framework of cooperation between the two friendly countries, expressing satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and the continued growth and tangible progress achieved across various fields of cooperation.

The two Ministers also discussed the outcomes of the visit by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye to the Sultanate of Oman in October last year. They noted that the understandings reached during the visit strengthened the level of partnership between the two countries and provided additional momentum to bilateral relations.

The Ministers affirmed the importance of continuing consultations and coordination at various levels. This includes regular institutional communication and the work of the Joint Committee, which recently held its thirteenth session in Ankara.

On the political front, the Ministers exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. These included developments in the Gaza Strip, where they underscored the importance of reaching a permanent ceasefire, ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid and supporting the political process aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace for the Palestinian cause, in accordance with legitimate international resolutions.

The Ministers also discussed recent developments in the Syrian Arab Republic. They highlighted the importance of supporting efforts to consolidate stability and of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in a manner that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region.

The meeting further addressed developments in the brotherly Republic of Yemen and efforts to support the political track leading to a comprehensive and sustainable settlement based on dialogue and consensus, in a way that preserves Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, security and stability.
