Oman condemns Israeli statements on so-called “Greater Israel”

14 August 2025

The Foreign Ministry expresses Oman’s strongest condemnation of statements made by the Israeli Prime Minister and his claims regarding the so-called “Greater Israel”.

The Sultanate of Oman rejects outright his unlawful expansionist plans, which flagrantly violate international law and encroach upon the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their own land in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Such expansionist rhetoric poses a direct threat to the security and stability of the region and fuels hostility and tension at a time when there is an urgent need for calm and cooperation among the region’s countries, as well as respect for the principles of national sovereignty and good neighbourliness.

Oman reaffirms its firm position in support of the sovereignty of the region’s states and the unity of their territories. It also reaffirms its resolute rejection of any schemes aimed at undermining national entities or altering the political geography of the region.

Oman also reiterates its unwavering commitment to supporting the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to establish an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Oman calls on the international community to take a firm stance against these aggressive policies, to protect the rights of the Palestinian people and to ensure the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
