Minister at international conference on camps in Syria

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi took part in a high-level international conference on the repatriation of individuals from Al Hol Camp, surrounding camps and detention centres in Syria.

The conference, held alongside the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, reviewed the humanitarian and security challenges linked to the situation in the camps and detention centres, as well as the ongoing human rights crises they pose in the context of current regional circumstances.

The participants discussed ways to strengthen international cooperation to facilitate repatriation processes and highlighted the importance of providing technical and logistical support to affected countries, in addition to sharing expertise and best practices to help find sustainable solutions to this complex issue.
