The four Decrees make a series of transfers and appointments among Oman’s diplomats.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued Royal Decree No. 71/2026 making transfers and appointments in the diplomatic corps. Sheikh Alabbas Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, attended The Energy Transition Conference 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. The Conference was held under the patronage of Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The discussions addressed developments in the region and the need to support mediation efforts

Sheikh Alabbas Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, attended the opening ceremony of the Asia Water Conference and Exhibition 2026. The conference was held under the patronage of Abdul Rahman Mohamed, Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation.

Sheikh Abbas Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, attended the annual engagement session with heads of diplomatic missions organised by the Central Bank of Malaysia.

The call discussed the current escalation in the region, agreeing on the importance of efforts to stop the Israeli US war on Iran.

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Malaysia took part in the Malaysian Muslim Festival in cooperation with the Omani Research and Studies Centre. A presentation highlighted Omani ethical values and introduced visitors to investment opportunities in Oman.  

Sheikh Alabbas Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Kuala Lumpur, attended the countdown event for the launch of the Visit Malaysia 2026 programme. The event took place under the theme “Extraordinary Experiences”, and was held under the patronage of Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The summit discussed key topics, including enhancing the economic partnership between the GCC and ASEAN and cooperation in food and energy security.

The declaration proposed conducting a joint feasibility study for a potential GCC ASEAN Free Trade Agreement.

The meeting was held in preparation for the upcoming GCC–ASEAN Summit.
