The discussions addressed developments in the region and the need to support mediation efforts

Sheikh Alabbas Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, attended the opening ceremony of the Asia Water Conference and Exhibition 2026. The conference was held under the patronage of Abdul Rahman Mohamed, Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation.

Sheikh Abbas Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, attended the annual engagement session with heads of diplomatic missions organised by the Central Bank of Malaysia.

The call discussed the current escalation in the region, agreeing on the importance of efforts to stop the Israeli US war on Iran.

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Malaysia took part in the Malaysian Muslim Festival in cooperation with the Omani Research and Studies Centre. A presentation highlighted Omani ethical values and introduced visitors to investment opportunities in Oman.  

Sheikh Alabbas Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Kuala Lumpur, attended the countdown event for the launch of the Visit Malaysia 2026 programme. The event took place under the theme “Extraordinary Experiences”, and was held under the patronage of Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The summit discussed key topics, including enhancing the economic partnership between the GCC and ASEAN and cooperation in food and energy security.

The declaration proposed conducting a joint feasibility study for a potential GCC ASEAN Free Trade Agreement.

The meeting was held in preparation for the upcoming GCC–ASEAN Summit.

Ambassador Sheikh Alabbas Alharthy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, met with Haji Azmin Mustafa Abdul Karim, Director General of Petro Teguh, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting reviewed available trade and investment opportunities and explored ways to enhance cooperation between companies and institutions in both countries to serve mutual economic interests.

Sheikh Alabbas bin Ibrahim Alharthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, received Mathumathi Manickvasagar Pilay, Managing Director of Indah Atelier, and her accompanying delegation. The luxury fashion house is promoting Malaysian batik fabrics while also exploring other business opportunities in Oman.

The Ministers discussed efforts to coordinate Arab and Islamic positions in addressing current challenges.

Sheikh Alabbas bin Ibrahim Alharthi, Oman’s Ambassador to Malaysia met with Habib Mohammed Sheikh, Founder of Zintex Chemicals. During the meeting, they discussed business and investment opportunities between the Sultanate of Oman and Malaysia, and ways to enhance cooperation in the chemicals sector and related industries.

The meeting focused on investment opportunities between Omani and Malaysian companies, with an emphasis on knowledge and technology initiatives. The discussion aimed to strengthen cooperation between Oman and Malaysia in this vital sector.

The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Malaysia took part in a golf tournament organised by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event aimed to enhance communication between senior officials in the Malaysian government, the private sector, and diplomatic missions in Malaysia.
