Kamel El Wazir, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport, discussed the launch of a direct shipping route linking the ports of Duqm and Salalah with Egyptian ports with Qais Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, and Abdullah Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States.

The initiative aims to develop industrial value chains, shipbuilding and maritime tourism and expand access to markets in Africa and Asia.
