The meeting also addressed regional developments, with an exchange of perspectives on effective pathways toward de-escalation and conflict prevention, and ways to support ongoing negotiations and diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring safe and secure maritime navigation through the Gulf’s strategic waterways.

In addition, the meeting explored avenues for reaching a comprehensive and lasting agreement on outstanding issues—foremost among them the Iranian nuclear file—in a way that supports regional stability, fosters peaceful coexistence and promotes constructive engagement among all neighbouring states in the region.

The meeting was attended from Oman by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister and Badr Almantheri, Oman’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

It was also attended by Jonathan Powell, National Security Adviser and Dr Liane Saunders, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Oman.
