His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has been sent a written message from Mohamed Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, concerning the relations between the two brotherly countries.

The message was handed to Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi during his meeting this evening with Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, special envoy of the Mauritanian President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad.

The meeting reviewed the cooperation and partnership between the two brotherly countries. The two Ministers affirmed their shared commitment to developing and strengthening ties across various fields, particularly in the economic and investment sectors, to serve mutual interests and meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

The two Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments. They affirmed the importance of supporting efforts to contain tensions and advance political solutions in order to strengthen the foundations of security and peace, in accordance with the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Faisal bin Omar Al Marhoon, Head of the Ministry’s Arab Department; Mohamed Vall Ould Ahmed Abah, Mauritania’s Ambassador to Oman, and various officials from both countries.

Commenting on the X social media platform, Sayyid Badr said that Oman takes pride in the longstanding relations between Oman and Mauritania, and that Oman looks forward to further communication and cooperation in all fields.
