A seminar was held in Muscat on the theme “Adherence to the Principle of Resolving Disputes through Political and Diplomatic Means.”

The seminar, organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Sultanate of Oman, addressed the importance of dialogue and understanding between nations in resolving crises and promoting security and stability, as well as the role of diplomacy in fostering cooperation and mutual respect among peoples.

The seminar covered topics related to the role of diplomacy in containing international tensions and the importance of mediation and peaceful solutions in building relations based on cooperation and mutual respect.

Ambassador Lyu Jian, China’s Ambassador to Oman, said that his country believes in the importance of dialogue and consultation in addressing international issues and supports efforts aimed at promoting peace and shared development among nations.

He added that China’s vision is based on four main principles: promoting peaceful coexistence among nations, respecting the sovereignty and independence of states, adhering to the rule of international law, and linking development and security to achieve sustainable regional stability.

He emphasised that Oman and China share similar philosophies and diplomatic stances, noting that Oman’s foreign policy is based on a profound and unwavering vision of establishing friendly relations with all countries of the world, and a  commitment to promoting regional and international peace and security.

The symposium saw extensive discussions and an exchange of views on the challenges facing diplomatic work in light of the current international situation, and on ways to enhance international cooperation to achieve stability and sustainable peace.

Participants at the symposium emphasised the importance of strengthening dialogue and understanding between nations as the best way to address crises and conflicts, stressing the need to respect the principles of international law and state sovereignty, and to work together to achieve global security and stability.

The symposium was attended by diplomats, academics, and those interested in political affairs and international relations.
