Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore.
The two Ministers discussed areas of cooperation and its development in the fields of energy, transport, the digital economy, innovation, and other areas, in order to strengthen the existing partnership between the two countries and to open up new horizons in furtherance of common interests.
They also reviewed current developments in the region, exchanging views on ways to de-escalate the current situation, and to support efforts to achieve calm. They discussed ways to encourage more meaningful dialogue and the predominance of political and diplomatic solutions, thus contributing to greater regional security and stability, as well as ensuring the smooth flow of maritime traffic and global supply chains.
The meeting touched on preparations for the third round in the strategic dialogue between the two friendly countries, reflecting a shared keenness to strengthen the frameworks of institutional consultation and expand partnership.
Commenting on the X social media platform Sayyid Badr said that the deep, longstanding friendship and historic people-to-people ties continue to strengthen Oman-Singapore relations.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Alhosni, Head of the Ministry’s Asia-Pacific Department; Luke Goh, Permanent Secretary for Policy at the Singaporean Ministry for Foreign Affairs; Noureddin bin Syed Hassim, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Muscat; and various officials from both countries.
