Sayyid Badr Albusaidi

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi has called for extending the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and for continuing the talks between the two countries.

In a post on X, he says that success may require everyone to make painful concessions, but this is nothing compared to the pain that could result from failure and war.

He added that when he met US Vice President JD Vance just hours before the war began, he formed the impression that both the Vice President and President Donald Trump had a genuine and strong preference to avoid the entanglements of war.

Sayyid Badr made his comments in response to a post on X by Pope Leo XIV in which the Pontiff says that military action will not create space for freedom or times of  peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
