The Sultanate of Oman and the European Union held a joint dialogue in Muscat on human rights, with the participation of a number of relevant bodies.

The meeting affirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of human rights in line with international standards and in a way that promotes the principles of justice and equality.

The Omani delegation was headed by Saleh Almaskari, Head of the Global Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry. The European delegation was headed by Anna Maria Panagiotakopoulou, Head of Division for the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq Division at the EU’s European External Action Service.
