The meeting discussed organisational and substantive preparations for the upcoming session, including the conference’s programme of work.

It also reviewed the outcomes of the Working Committee’s meetings held throughout the year to discuss issues related to the establishment of the proposed zone.

The meeting forms part of Oman’s efforts, as President of the Seventh Session, to promote dialogue and consensus among countries in the region and build on the progress achieved in previous sessions.

These efforts aim to advance negotiations towards establishing a Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, while supporting regional security and stability.
