The second session of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal was held in Kathmandu.
The Omani delegation was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, while the Nepalese delegation was headed by Amrit Bahadur Rai, Foreign Secretary of Nepal.
The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and prospects for cooperation in investment, education, cultural exchange, agricultural products and fertilisers, and air transport.
The discussions aimed to boost trade and investment and expand opportunities for economic cooperation.
The meeting also discussed a number of consular matters and bilateral agreements, and included an exchange of views on regional developments.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Issa Alshibani, Oman’s Ambassador to the Republic of India; Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Alhosni, Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Asia and Pacific Department; and officials from both countries.
On the sidelines of the consultations, Sheikh Khalifa met Nepal’s Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Environment and the Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment. The meetings discussed cooperation between the two countries.
