The Sultanate of Oman participated in a joint ministerial meeting held in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)  and the Swiss Confederation,

Oman was represented by Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Alqatabi, Head of the International Organisations Department at the Foreign Ministry.

The meeting discussed cooperation between the GCC states and the Swiss Confederation, and how to strengthen and develop that cooperation across various areas of mutual interest in support of shared interests.

The participants also exchanged views on key current regional and international issues, as well as efforts to enhance security and stability. They underlined the importance of dialogue, international cooperation and multilateral action in addressing shared challenges.
