Ambassador Ahmed Alaraimi, Head of Mission of the Sultanate of Oman in France, attended the international space summit held in Paris under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron.

The summit brought together heads of state and government, decision-makers, astronauts and representatives of space agencies and leading global companies in the sector. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also participated.

The summit provided an international platform to discuss the future of space activities amid rapidly evolving geopolitical and technological developments and to strengthen international cooperation in space exploration and scientific innovation.

Discussions also addressed growing economic opportunities in the space industry, which is estimated to exceed $1 trillion in the coming years.

The summit focused on key areas, including the development of satellite launch technologies, strengthening the security of space communications, earth observation and climate change monitoring, exploration of the moon and deep space, supporting European industrial capabilities and strengthening international partnerships in this vital sector.

The summit represents an important step towards shaping the future of the global space sector and strengthening cooperation among countries to address the challenges and opportunities presented by this strategic sector.
