The ninth round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Uzbekistan was convened in Muscat.
The Omani delegation was chaired by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, while the Uzbek delegation was led by Bakhromomjon Aloyev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The session, reviewed existing relations and explored ways to enhance them across various domains, particularly in the political, economic, investment, commercial, scientific and cultural spheres. Discussions also focused on supporting joint investments, activating trade and pursuing their development to serve the mutual interests of both countries.
The session welcomed the inauguration of the direct Muscat–Tashkent air route, and also saw an exchange of views on regional and international issues.
The session was attended by Sheikh Ahmed Almaskari, Head of the Ministry’s Department for the GCC and Region; Abdusalom Khatamov, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Oman, as well as various officials from both countries.
